雲林縣警局虎尾分局鹿寮派出所日前接獲轄區崙仔村居民通報，疑似有遊民需要協助搭車返家，警員陳建福獲報後，即前往處理，卻在為民服務之工作中，因落實查詢身分，意外查獲通緝犯。
警方表示，起先為協助民眾返家之服務工作，由於員警到達現場時已近凌晨，礙於公共運輸工具均已休息，故先將其帶返所暫作安置，翌日再叫車協助民眾返回台南，過程中為查詢其身分，意外發現該劉姓民眾因竊盜案件，遭嘉義地方檢察署通緝，警方隨即將其逮捕，在警詢後依法解送至到案處所。
