SINGAPORE: Two Singaporeans died while onboard cruise ship Voyager of the Seas, its operating company Royal Caribbean Cruises said on Wednesday (May 15).
The passengers, who were aged 61 and 75, died of "unrelated natural causes", a spokesperson for the cruise company confirmed in an email to CNA.

"As per our standard procedure, we have informed the respective families and we are providing them assistance during this difficult time," the spokesperson added.
“We extend our most sincere condolences to the families."

According to Cruise Mapper, Voyager of the Seas departed from Singapore on Monday at 4.30pm and arrived in Penang on Tuesday, before setting off and docking at Phuket on Wednesday. It is expected to return to Singapore on Friday.

The cruise ship had its first voyage in 1999 and has 1,643 guest rooms, according to the Royal Caribbean Cruises' website. The ship sails to several destinations, including Australia, Fiji and New Zealand.

What kinda new is this. Seasick kills? Or is this an episode from Murder of the Caribbean

Very lucky... they get exclusive access to the morgue in the cruise ship, which is out of bounds to living passengers.

It's just a cruise up the Straits of Malacca.

It would have been logistically more challenging if the ship were travelling up the South China Sea and beyond.

most likely gorge themselves to death at the 24x7 buffet.

Cruise ship got fun meh? Half an hour finish walking around the ship and then kenna stuck in that ship for a few days. Not bored meh?

Casino, buffet, gym+spa, entertainment, then explore the city when the ship reaches a port.

As a matter of fact both died while they were enjoying and holidaying plus lots of food and sex. Much better than dying of terminal illness or poverty.

I agree. It's a good way to die.

call it what you want, but end of the day (and cruise) - it's just a floating casino

The casino is only a small part of the ship, and it's not as fun or atmospheric like a proper casino on land.

Also, I think Royal Caribbean cruises use US dollars for all transactions, including casino gambling.
