Original title: Worried about "China's penetration", the Australian side deprived the Chinese businessman Huang Xiangmo of the right to reside, prohibiting entry

[Text / Observer Network Gu Zhixuan] According to the Australian Broadcasting Corporation reported on February 6, the Australian side canceled the permanent residency of Chinese businessman Huang Xiangmo and rejected his application for naturalization.

According to the report, the above decision was made by the Australian Ministry of the Interior. Huang Xiangmo was informed that the matter was outside Australia and his right to return to Australia was also denied. The Australian newspaper learned that Huang Xiangmo is currently in Hong Kong.

In recent years, the rich man who is engaged in real estate has been accused of “connecting with Chinese officials” and donated at least 2 million Australian dollars (about 9.63 million yuan) to Australian political parties. The Australian domestic media has repeatedly hyped up “China’s interference in Australia’s internal affairs”. Although Australian law did not prohibit foreigners or companies from donating to Australian political parties at the time.

In June 2017, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said when asked about related issues, the Australian media "there is no factual basis for the report, full of speculation and delusion, it is not worth refuting."

The World Wide Web previously reported that Huang Xiangmo came to Australia in 2011 and applied for immigration. He once told the Australian media that immigration is to expand business, and because Australia's air and living environment is good.
In 2018, Huang Xiangmo was at his house in Mosman, Sydney. From the Sydney Morning Herald, in 2018, Huang Xiangmo was at his house in Mosman, Sydney. From the Sydney Morning Herald.

The Sydney Morning Herald reported that Australian government sources said that the reasons for Australia’s refusal to issue passports to Huang Xiangmo include “character grounds”. The Australian Ministry of the Interior is also concerned that Huang Xiangmo's answer to the naturalization interview and the information provided when communicating with departments including the Australian Security Intelligence Agency (ASIO) lacked "reliability."

The source also said that the decision to reject Huang Xiangmo's naturalization was made after a two-year background analysis by the Australian Security Intelligence Agency and immigration officials.

In 2017, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation and Fairfax Media Group conducted an investigation and said that the Australian Security Intelligence Agency had issued a warning to the political party coalition and the Labour Party on the donation of two billionaires because the two were related to China. One is Huang Xiangmo.

The Australian Broadcasting Corporation reported that Huang Xiangmo himself denied any association with Chinese officials.

For the recent Australian media reports, Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison said, "The government has been following the advice we received, and this incident is no exception."

He emphasized that the law prohibiting foreign donations came into effect on January 1.

For the previous political contributions, Morrison said that according to the information known at the time, the money has been accepted "sincerely". The Australian Broadcasting Corporation reported that Morrison’s remarks implied that the Liberal Party in which he was located would not return Huang Xiangmo’s donation.

According to Observer's previous report, Huang Xiangmo was the founder of Shenzhen Real Estate Company Yuhu Group and moved to Australia in 2011. Since then, since then, he, his family, his company and the staff of the Yuhu Group have donated money to the Australian Liberal Party and the Labour Party. Huang Xiangmo has taken photos with several political figures including Turnbull.

In 2016, Huang Xiangmo (left) and then Australian Prime Minister Turnbull (middle) took a photo from the Sydney Morning Herald.
