Reiwa Soba Honten (for the unenlightened, Reiwa, or "beautiful harmony", connotes the current regnancy of Japan's 126th Emperor Naruhito) had humble rumblings as a single Kelantan Road hawker stall way back in August 2020 (permanently winded up on 14 December 2021); another came to pass at Clementi sometime around May 2021 (that too went six feet under since 12 March 2022), thereafter an unassertive, matchbox izakaya glimpsing Bedok Reservoir months later. If it matters, owner Shinji Matsudaira swears by 100% undebased buckwheat flour insofar as his soba noodles are concerned - these being operosely sythesized from scratch each day. Nimiety of soba entrées withal, there's sushi/sashimi, minikin deep-fried items and seasonal sakes diners could also latch upon.
Reiwa Soba Honten opens daily from 11.30am-3pm, 5.30pm-10pm except Wednesdays. Do make your reservation prior unless you fancy getting blindsided and left in indefinite limbo, like what befell us when we pressed forth with an extemporaneous visit (our asses only allocated seats following one 50-minute marathon wait).
