One frustrated but well paid minion, if my memory do not fail me, Penang Laksa Khaw made this remark. He was defending why the regime could not solve the inflation problem. He used the old trick e.g. Animal Farm. He claims inflation is a global problem and peasants should bite the bullet and endure price hikes.
However this vile minion is a scum. He makes millions but his counterparts globally has lower stipends.
In the private sector, shareholders have little patience for excuses. For a well paid minion, if the problem is not solved, he will be booted. However for minions, they are assured of the iron rice bowl despite their incompetence.
Another example is WKS. The shameless dork was responsible for taking 4 hours to cover up Mas's limping escapade before realising his Home Ministry lackeys are only good at harassing state dissenters. Mas took the precious 4 hours to hide at better locations and turned the search into a silly affair. The Homes Team could not find Mas but ended up flushing illegal over-stayers and Thai pleasure ladies in 'jungles'. WKS did not do the honourable proud by resigning but sacked a few scapegoats for accountability.
