Why do we need other parties if PAP is the best party to hold office?
Look at China, Russia, North Korea, etc, one- party talk and things get done smoothly without headaches.
Singapore has attracted millions of foreigners, of which, majority comes from the third world countries and most are loyally appreciative to PAP Govt when given citizenship. Neither are they bothered by the history nor Hong Lim Park. .
Love and compassion cannot survive without money, PAP govt would surely win many elections to come given the engineered landscape to becoming a cosmopolitan society and treading on the feel-good economy. .
With all due respect, why take so much of mental pain changing elections territory, install GRCs, and concoct all kinds of trickery to woo local voters?
If alternative parties could harm Singapore, then it is best Singapore abolishes elections!
Look at past voting results, PAP has been all time shoo-ins. Singaporeans (locals or new ones) only want PAP to rule Singapore. .
Singaporeans should realize that their island is at dire stake becos PAP would at all costs compete to stay in power. Holding office for PAP govt is a life and death issue. Opposition parties literally have not even a ghost of control over anything let alone the deadly media are in the pipedream to topple PAP despite their huge crowd at the GE rallies. .
But the latent fear of PAP being defeated is not discounted.
More engineering of political landscape like bringing in more and more FTs, wantonly to augmenting Singapore population to veneer its motives will eventually drive Singapore to the dogs. .
Since PAP has been enjoying majority votes for more than 40 years, why waste resources and time holding elections that Opposition parties cannot win majority and hold office.
Only when PAP confirms its position is secured for another 50 years, Singaporean island may change for the better.
Don’t dream of miracle, even if it happens, PAP got voted out, they would destroy Singapore’s economy, let the huge number of unpaid and angry foreign workers roam the streets and they(PAP) fly out of Singapore as planned before you could lay a hand on them and their families.
Thinking of Taiwan’s Ah Bian’s revelation? Every authority knows what is tribalism. It’s near impossible in Singapore. Singapore is not a country but a big restaurant.
You may think Singapore will fall into recession, you are dead wrong becos PAP has a big network of Foreign workers and new citizens which are their economic backbones, local citizen’s presence is merely on sufferance. Even if all locals go on the strike, Singapore will still run golden period. If there is a war, of course local boys or men are pushed to death zone.
Perhaps , only making Singapore a totalitarian state with PAP a long-term Govt would make the PAP people love its very own citizens and listen to them once a while.
