To me, it shows two things:

• More importantly, Singapore was not a dump festering with all manner of diseases which was rescued single-handedly by the PAPzis. It already had a solid infrastructure and a society which worked. For sure, by the time the PAPzis came along, a lot of that infrastructure was degraded BUT they did not build Singapore from scratch as they often would have us believe.
• I notice a lot more policing indicating a willingness to put boots on the ground the maintain law and order. Now they want to do everything by remote-control and trying to find a cop when you need one is very difficult.

yeah i grew up around that time when many of those buildings are still around....now they are all gone....including this....which is still in Switzerland..i am surprised why those historical sites were not preserved....they were part of spore history...

The Indians seemed to have made significant contribution to Singapore's progress and stability. These Indians seem to do the same to this day - so FTs and migrant workers is not something new.

So much progress has since happens. Without the PAP government, Singapore would not transform itself to what it is today. Right thinking men know how to appreciate this.

Just look at the bumboat-choked Singapore River. Do you still find that romantic or the millions of containers at Port of Singapore at Tanjong Pagar in pragmatic modern Singapore?

this one can minimize, if not go....remember those brought back memories of our coolie ancestors....they tell us of our roots....help us to make us strong as a nation....they are all gone...now our NS boys are so guniangs..
