We meet up with an old friend of ours a pro PAP supporter for decades! Staying somewhere near Holland /Ulu Pandan . She tells us that almost 40% of her estate which is over 25 years old estate have been bought by ang mo foreigners who were like vultures wanting to enbloc the estate!
Many locals who have stayed in the estate for the last 10 -25 years do not want to enbloc the estate simply because it is THEIR ONLY HOME IN SINGAPORE.
THE ANG MOHS WHO ARE ONLY PRs AS WELL AS FOREIGNERS see it as their temporary homes here as merely investments and speculation. They don't care about replacement value and what the locals can get in the market once they homes are enblocked- they only want their profits and go back home to where they came from!
Despite having forstalled enblocs for the last two times, now more and more ang mohs have formed the SALES COMMITTEE and with the help of another rogue agent have decided to again try for another enbloc.
Two ang mohs on the committee are also anxious to get the enbloc thro as they want to leave for home soon and to reap in the profits by enblocking their apartments here
NOW MORE THAN 50% IN THER SALES COMMITTEE ARE PRs! ( ang mohs!)
OUR friend tells us there is absolutely no SECURITY AND FEELING OF HOME FOR LOCAL SINGAPOREANS THESE DAYS -
THE GOVERNMENT' S ENBLOC NONSENSE AND ALLOWING THESE FTS TO BE IN THE COUNTRY IN DROVES ARE CAUSING PROBLEMS TO LOCALS
Our friend said" to them(FTs) it is just an investment - to us it is HOME! and with escalating PRICES we can never get another replacement home similar to what we have.
They tell us since the government is not protecting LOCALS and their homes , from these FT piranhnas they have decide to VOTE against the garment too!
