PETALING JAYA: A 43-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of raping and forcing both his wife and daughter into prostitution will be charged in court on Thursday (Aug 6).
Selangor CID chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Fadzil Ahmat said the suspect was expected to be charged under Section 13b and Section 14 of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Smuggling of Migrants Act (Atipsom) for use of force to traffic a person for the purpose of exploitation and trafficking a child for the purpose of exploitation respectively.
"The man and three Pakistani men, as well as a Bangladeshi man, aged between 29 and 35, are also expected to be charged with rape under Section 376(3) and Section 376(2) of the Penal Code.
"The father is expected to face all charges at the Klang Sessions Court, while the four foreigners are expected to face charges at the Kajang Court," he said in a statement on Wednesday (Aug 5).
He added that on July 11, the complainant, who is the victim's aunt, alleged that her niece had been raped and prostituted by her father at a condominium in Hulu Langat since 2017.
No details were given regarding how the wife might have been victimised.
Prior to this, it had been reported that eight men had been detained over the allegations of rape and prostitution of a 13-year-old girl, including her own father.
The eight, who were initially investigated for rape, were also investigated under Atipsom.
Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Zaid Hassan was reported as saying that the victim's aunt claimed that her niece was raped and prostituted by her father.
He said the victim was believed to have been raped when she was just 10 years old. Her mother confronted the suspect, and he did not repeat his actions.
However, he added, from the middle of 2019 up until February 2020, the victim was forced to have sex with around 20 customers brought in by the suspect.
