one run road the other la kopi with ISA??? LOL

ISD. You can't la kopi with ISA.

I still drink and eat with ISD people at times. I still have friends and relatives there.

To correct misperception, ISD isn't that political nowadays. Gangfights are not under ISA but under CLTPA ("55") which is exercised by CID. One to one fights without weapons is usually Sec. 323 Cap. 224 private case unless some bones are broken to become Sec. 324 police case.. Whichever way, the court case can be easily defended by the victor in the fight as necessary force in self defence. There's no such thing in law that beating up someone is automatically against the law. It depends on where and why and when if necessary force becomes excessive force.

Notice the law and law enforcement in Singapore. People are allowed to fight one to one without police interference and out of police presence. The limit is not to break bones or cause injuries resulting in more than 14 days hospitalization. Any grievance about aggression or unfairness, go to the magistrate yourself, none of police business. You can struggle through all the documents and procedures yourself or hire a lawyer. I've known of no loser winning such a case before just because he lost a fight and got beaten up. But if your opponent is a woman, she's sure to win the case.

If fights resulted coz of racial issue, ISD will monitor case while police take court action.

Can't agree with you that ISD isn't that political nowadays. ISD WILL FOREVER REMAIN POLITICAL.

I said, not *that* political. Political acidity is always there of course, but tuned down quite a lot since GCT took over PM and now into LHL era. ;)

If what you state is true, they wouldn't be expanding THAT particular division and the many sections within that division.

It cooled off for quite some years, until the terrorism problem. It was CIA that passed over the Yishun-Admiralty MRT bomb plot info. Even worse, when MSK escaped.

Different division involved. With more opposition MPs, their strength in the relevant section MUST increase to cope.

Police or even ISD should have nothing partial to do with MPs or politics, whether PAP or Opposition, that I agree. No opposition MPs got into trouble by winning elections fairly, that I see too. In fact, if you remember old PA training, police is supposed to salute MPs, whether PAP or opposition. There was once a few years ago, on a Hougang constituency day trip, one woman TP was about to summon a WP tour bus when someone quickly notified LTK to come out. I went out with him. She was as usual like all TPs do usually, said no choice, must summon. I reminded her, LTK is an MP, she hadn't saluted him yet. She was taken aback a moment but recovered and saluted. LTK returned the salute and said old folks were coming up onto the bus and leaving a.s.a.p. She said 10 minutes, she'd come back and check.

Ah Ram, you can't be that naive! Let's leave the police out and concentrate on ISD. If they are 1%apolitical, I tok and tok until 2 pieces. They may not have direct dealings with MPs but they do have intimate dealings with the MIWs.

And the opposition MPs deal both ways too, and have people to help them deal both ways too. That's politics. ;)
