Advantages:

1. Immediately removes discrimination against Sporns in their own cuntry.
2. Cuts cost (> 1/3 of annual budget) and $ saved can be used to reduce taxes.
3. Increased manpower and reduces dependency on FTrash.
4. "Talents' that would otherwise to be tied up as worthless paper scholar generals to prove themselves in the private sector.
5. A well-trained, highly motivated professional defence force is better able to meet new security threats and protect the people, instead of being beholden to 1 Familee and threatens to mount a military coup when a despotic govt is being voted out.

Disadvantages:

1. Familee loses 1 way to turn Sporns into little lambs.
2. Familee has one less excuse to hike taxes.
3. Familee jiat liao bee businesses lose an important source of income.
4. Old Fart no longer have excuse to import FTrash mindlessly to replace Sporns.
5. Disgruntled "talents" who now kena the full impact of the Old Fart's pro-FTrash decree and kena marginalized by FTrash would join in the fight to topple the Leegime.

I know SINGAPORE GOVERNMENT is rich (Money come from Singaporean though).

But please dont always take money to solve the problem especially to compensate lost of life.

You know, we wish we would live in a world that makes change instant in a finger snap- but we don't.

And as depressing as it seems, change has to come in stages. So firstly, it doesn't mean there will be a change in the ruling party come 2011; just a shift of seats to the opposition at best to counter the PAP hegemony. Secondly, it doesn't mean that if there's a new party or coalition, it means they will abolish NS the next day; it'd only endanger national security. Thirdly, election of an alternate party or coalition only gives us a chance to make that change; it doesn't represent change by itself. Last but not least, policies and issues are also very important. People won't give a chance to alternatives especially if they feel that the alternatives don't offer viable policies that will help govern this country in the first place.

Finally, when an alternate party/coalition takes power, it must recognise that it doesn't just rule on behalf of its constituency, but it rules on behalf of all, including those who hadn't voted for them. As such, consideration must be taken in terms of their views. Keep your friends close, and your enemies even closer.
