STOMPer Crumpler88 shares his dining experience at Shokudo, where one of his colleagues found a dead cockroach floating in his ramen soup after he had finished eating.

Says Crumpler88:

"My colleagues and I were having lunch at Shokudo, Raffles City, this afternoon.

"Just when one of them finished his ramen, he spotted a nymph floating around in the soup!

"It was dead but no less disgusting. The sight and thought of drinking 'Essence of Cockroach' spoiled all our appetites.

"The management explained that fumigation had just been carried out the day before, but still this was no excuse for hygiene to be compromised.

"Had expected more from this household name frequented by tons of youngsters and office workers.

"What an Ox-picious start to the New Year."

PRC kitchen help?

Yeah yeah workers from China are conspiring to bring down the local and international appreciation of Japanese cuisine in Singapore's Japanese food joints by preserving and breeding cockroaches in the kitchens, signifying the half-decade old Chinese hatred against Japanese wartime aggression and atrocities is still very much alive and kicking.
