Quick action saves boys from being kidnapped
SHAH ALAM: Alert members of the public and speedy police action resulted in the arrest of a man who had abducted two young boys aged eight and 12 from a housing area in Section 26 here yesterday. District police chief Asst Comm Noor Azam Jamaluddin said the police were alerted about a possible kidnapping after members of the public saw the boys from the Hicom flat getting into the man’s car at about 4.30pm.
He said police sprung into action by setting up roadblocks around Section 26 before arresting the man at 5.15pm. The two boys were found safe in the car. “Initial investigation showed that the man had tricked the boys into getting in the car and following him by offering them money. “They were also told that he was interested in videotaping them playing football,” he added. — Bernama
