Just observe the majority of mask users. They take the mask out of their pockets or handbags where they have been stuffed next too their filthy wallets, car keys.

The masks are handled with hands that have not been washed or sanitised.

They are used for a while in crowded places and then stuff back, with dirty hands, into the same virus laden receptacles.

They would have been far better off just keeping their hands clean and away from the faces.

Wearing filthy masks that have been handled with filthy hands and stored in filthy bags and pockets does nothing to protect the wearer all it does is make matters far worse.

Fully agree that a properly fitted N95 mask which is worn for a short period of time and then discarded and replaced can help prevent the spread.

However much of the protection provided by an N95 mask is negated by the fact that people are not bothering to protect their eyes.

The eyes are directly connected to the respiratory system via the Nasolacrimal duct that drains into the nasal passage.

Everyone keeps harping on and on about masks because they want to believe that they are doing something to protect themselves so they cling to idea that it is protective despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary. It's become like a religion ie comforting in times of stress and fear because of the unknown.

Between regular hand washing and observing good personal hygiene and wearing masks, I prefer the former. Wearing a mask in hot humid Singapore is cumbersome and troublesome when one needs to eat and drink ever so often.
