padding doesn’t help to cushion the “slow motion” impact on muscles, joints and bones, especially tendons and cartilage, when bench height is too high. worst is injury to spine. the back must be able to rest flat when hip is pushed up. injury to lower back muscles is not immediate but will be evident later.
this lady does it right. right height to allow back to rest fully flat with minimal impact to the spine.
