SINGAPORE: The Singapore Democratic Alliance has said that Goh Kim Seng will lead their team in Pasir-Ris Punggol GRC in the upcoming General Election.
66-year-old Mr Goh is the founder and managing director of 6M Management Consultants. He has a honours degree in psychology from London University as well as a Masters of Science in Applied Sociology from NUS.
He is also married with two children.
Mr Goh, who has never contested in an election before, visited Pasir Ris with fellow SDA members on Saturday afternoon.
Mr Goh said: "You can see from my gray hair, (a) fair bit of maturity (but) young enough to partake in this and my experience comes from a wide scope. I was an engineer before, (a) management consultant. I've studied psychology, I've studied sociology and I have a heart for the people."
A three-cornered fight is widely expected at the GRC with the Workers' Party appearing keen to contest there as well. The SDA has said it welcomes the extra competition.
The alliance's secretary-general Desmond Lim said, " the more the merrier." Mr Lim said the rest of the candidates who will make up the team for the GRC will be introduced in the near future.
