ANOTHER army camp has been identified as an Influenza A (H1N1) cluster in Singapore.
The Ministry of Health (MOH) confirmed yesterday that three full-time national servicemen caught the virus at Pulau Tekong Camp, where new enlistees undergo their basic military training.
This makes it the second army camp to be classified as a cluster. Maju Camp, off Clementi Road, has had a total of 12 cases so far.
Meanwhile, Republic Polytechnic is poised to become the biggest infection cluster here. The MOH says it has 20 cases, but the school in Woodlands said it has 31.
The discrepancy occurs because some of the students could be part of a different cluster, said an MOH spokesman.
Currently, the biggest cluster in Singapore is the Butter Factory club, with 26 cases. Five of them are new.
No new cases were reported yesterday at Riverlife Church in Loyang, previously one of the bigger clusters. Its total stands at 10.
In its daily statement, the MOH said last night that 50 new H1N1 cases were confirmed in Singapore yesterday, bringing the total to 365.
