As of October 24, 21 provinces across the country had surrendered their economic performance transcripts for the first three quarters. According to the statistics of the news (www.thepaper.cn), in the provinces that have published data, in addition to the unpublished GDP data in Guangxi, the total GDP of the first three quarters of the 11 provinces in 20 provinces exceeded 2 trillion yuan.

In the first three quarters of Guangdong, GDP exceeded the 7 trillion yuan mark for the first time, ranking first with a score of 7.06 trillion yuan. In the first three quarters of Sichuan, GDP ranked 3 trillion yuan for the first time, and the growth rate was also the same as that of the same period last year. Compared with the same period of last year, the total economic output of Hubei and Hunan has surpassed Hebei, and the gap between Hubei and Hebei has gradually widened.

Among the 21 provinces, the economic growth rate of the first three quarters of the 16 provinces exceeded or remained the national average. Yunnan temporarily topped the list with a score of 9.1%. Guizhou followed closely with the growth rate of 9.0%, but it fell by 1.1 percentage points from the same period of last year. This is the first time that Guizhou's growth rate has slipped to single digits in more than a decade. Tianjin's growth rate is 3.5%, and it is temporarily bottomed out.

Except for Inner Mongolia, which did not announce economic growth in the first three quarters of last year, the growth rate of 13 provinces in the 20 provinces slowed down year-on-year. The growth rate of Tianjin and Hainan slowed down by a large margin, down 2.5 and 2.1 percentage points respectively.

Guangdong broke 7 trillion, and the gap between Hubei and Hebei widened

Since Guangxi has not released GDP data, among the 20 provinces other than Guangxi, the total GDP of the first three quarters of 11 provinces exceeded 2 trillion yuan. Among them, Guangdong's GDP in the first three quarters exceeded the 7 trillion yuan mark for the first time, with a score of 7.06 trillion yuan. Zhejiang, Henan, and Sichuan are 3 trillion yuan, and the three provinces are temporarily ranked 2, 3, and 4 in the economic aggregate list with 3.88 trillion yuan, 3.55 trillion yuan, and 3.09 trillion yuan respectively. For Sichuan, this is also the first time in the first three quarters that it ranks 3 trillion yuan, and Sichuan's GDP growth rate is also the same as last year.

GDP ranking of provinces in the first three quarters of 2018

In the first three quarters of last year, Jiangsu ranked second in the country with a total volume of 6.26 trillion yuan, a growth rate of 7.2%. If Jiangsu continues to maintain its growth momentum this year, the second national title in the first three quarters will also be won. Shandong, which ranked third last year, has not yet released economic data for the first three quarters.

Compared with the same period of last year, the total economic output of Hubei and Hunan surpassed Hebei, and the two provinces ranked 5th and 6th respectively with 2.76 trillion yuan and 2.53 trillion yuan. Hebei's GDP in the first three quarters of this year was 2.52 trillion yuan, ranking two down, temporarily ranking seventh.

In fact, the total economic output of Hubei surpassed Hebei in the fourth quarter of 2017. In 2017, Hubei's GDP was 3.65 trillion yuan, and Hebei's total was 3.60 trillion yuan. The total gap between the two provinces was 0.056 trillion yuan. The gap between Hubei and Hebei is also widening, and this gap has expanded to 0.14 trillion yuan in the first half of this year. In the first three quarters of this year, Hubei once again led Hebei with a total advantage of 0.24 trillion yuan.

Up to now, the economic aggregates of Ningxia and Qinghai at the end of the total GDP ranking were 0.28 trillion yuan and 0.19 trillion yuan respectively.

The growth rate of the 13 provinces slowed down year-on-year, and the growth rate of Tianjin was temporarily lowered.

In the first three quarters of this year, the national GDP growth rate was 6.7%, down 0.2 percentage points from the same period last year. Among the 21 provinces that have released economic data for the first three quarters, the economic growth rate of the first three quarters of 16 provinces exceeded or remained the national average.

In terms of growth rate, Yunnan ranked first with a score of 9.1%, an increase of 0.1 percentage points year-on-year. In the first three quarters, the added value of industrial enterprises above designated size increased by 12.5% year-on-year, and the growth rate increased by 3.2 percentage points over the same period of the previous year, which was 6.1 percentage points higher than the national (6.4%), and the growth rate ranked second in the country. Fixed asset investment increased by 10.4% year-on-year, and the growth rate rebounded by 0.2 percentage points from the previous eight months.

GDP growth rate of each province in the first three quarters of 2018

The second-ranked Guizhou has a growth rate of 9.0%. Jiangxi and Fujian are also growing faster. Jiangxi's growth rate was 8.8%, temporarily ranking third; Fujian's growth rate was 8.3%, ranking fourth. The economic growth rate of Tianjin in the first three quarters was 3.5%.

Inner Mongolia has not announced economic growth in the first three quarters of 2017. Therefore, among the 20 provinces other than Inner Mongolia, the growth rate of 13 provinces slowed down year-on-year. Among them, Guizhou, which has maintained double-digit growth for many consecutive years, has grown to single digits in the first three quarters of this year. In the first half of 2017, Guizhou's economic growth rate was 10.4%. The Guizhou Provincial Bureau of Statistics said at the time that Guizhou's economic growth rate has stabilized at more than 10% for 14 consecutive years since 2002. In the first half of this year, Guizhou's economic growth rate was 10.0%. In the first three quarters of this year, Guizhou's 9.0% economic growth rate was higher than the national average, but it fell by 1.1 percentage points from the same period last year.

In terms of fixed assets investment, Guizhou's fixed asset investment in the first three quarters increased by 16.3% over the same period of the previous year, and the growth rate dropped by 4.2 percentage points year-on-year. Among them, infrastructure investment increased by 16.5% over the same period of the previous year, down 9.4 percentage points year-on-year. According to the statistics of the Guizhou Provincial Bureau of Statistics, due to the in-depth advancement of expressways and “group-communication” highways, Guizhou’s infrastructure investment growth rate was 25.9% in the first three quarters of 2017. At that time, Guizhou’s infrastructure investment accounted for the proportion of fixed-asset investment. It is 43.9%.

The growth rate of Tianjin's growth rate is currently the largest, reaching 2.5 percentage points. As one of the four municipalities directly under the Central Government, Tianjin's economic growth rate has been among the best in the country for nearly a decade. From 1999 to 2014, Tianjin's GDP growth rate has always been double-digit. However, in 2017, Tianjin's economic growth rate declined, and the GDP growth rate in that year dropped sharply from 9% in 2016 to 3.6%. In the first quarter and the first half of this year, Tianjin's GDP growth rate remained low, at 1.9% and 3.4% respectively.

The “squeezing of water” on false statistics is considered to be one of the reasons for the sharp decline in Tianjin’s economic growth. In the first three quarters of this year, Tianjin's fixed asset investment fell by 14.2% year-on-year, a decline of 3.1 percentage points from the first half of the year. Among them, private investment fell by 13.4%, accounting for 43.2% of the city's investment.

In terms of industries, the primary industry fell by 2.8%; the secondary industry fell by 21.4%, which was 8.4 percentage points lower than the first half of the year, of which manufacturing investment fell by 31.3%, narrowing by 0.9 percentage points, and computer communications and other electronic equipment manufacturing grew. 31.9%, the automobile manufacturing industry grew by 10.2%; the tertiary industry fell by 12.2%, which was 0.8 percentage points lower than the first half of the year, of which leasing and business services grew by 34.8%, and infrastructure investment fell by 29.6%, narrowing by 15.0 percentage points.

In terms of real estate, Tianjin real estate development investment fell by 0.3% year-on-year. The sales area of commercial housing in the city was 9,356,200 square meters, down 21.5% year-on-year, and the decline was 5.8 percentage points lower than the first half. The sales volume reached 149.263 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 18.8%, narrowing by 8.7 percentage points. As of the end of September, the area of commercial housing for sale in the city fell by 8.4% year-on-year.

Hainan is also the slower growth rate. Hainan's growth rate in the first three quarters of this year was 5.4%, down 2.1 percentage points year-on-year. Since the beginning of this year, Hainan's GDP growth rate in the first quarter, the first half of the year and the first three quarters has been around 5.5%.

In the first three quarters, Hainan's fixed asset investment continued to fall, and the volume of housing transactions continued to fall. Fixed assets investment decreased by 13.1% year-on-year, a decrease of 8.3 percentage points from the first half of the year and a decrease of 24.7 percentage points from the same period of last year. Among them, real estate development investment fell by 15.2% year-on-year, private investment fell by 10.4%, and infrastructure construction investment fell by 3.9%.

In terms of industries, investment in the primary industry fell by 24.6%; investment in the secondary industry increased by 37.5%; investment in the tertiary industry fell by 16.0%. The sales area of houses was 11.38 million square meters, and the sales volume reached 167.793 billion yuan, down 34.6% and 17.0% respectively year-on-year. The decline was 7.5 and 9.6 percentage points higher than the first half of the year.

In the first three quarters, economic growth in many provinces is still accelerating. In addition to the increase of Yunnan's growth rate by 0.1 percentage points, the growth rate of Hubei and Fujian increased by 0.1 and 0.4 percentage points respectively, and the growth rate of Hunan and Shaanxi expanded by 0.3 percentage points.
