Prostitute Press wants you to sympathize with China prostitutes

They borrow money to work as lounge hostesses here, but get cheated by rogue agents & violent customers
Conned & scorned

By Maureen Koh and Gan Ling Kai
May 30, 2010

The New Paper on Sunday team interviewed 25 women from various provinces in China who are working in nightclubs or walking the streets here.

They come here seeking a better life, hoping to make money or find a husband.

But they often end up stranded in desolate with no one to turn to for help, mainly because - as most of them are fully aware - they are breaking the law.

Some, however, claimed that they are victims of rogue agents who misled them into believing "there's a pot of gold in Singapore".

One woman, known only as Miss Ke-er, has to pay nearly $6,000 to her agent for "grooming and wardrobe fees" before she could end her "contract" prematurely.

Another woman, Miss Na-li, says she's had customers who sneaked off without paying her for sex.

Isn't that what all women want? How come not every woman is prostitute?

So what do Ms Koh and Ms Gan want us to do after reporting something that everyone knows?

Are they asking the wives/GFs to close one eye and allow their husbands to go Geyland and KTV?

Are they asking the men to help these poor women by going to GL/KTV every other day and also don't forget to pay up?

Can they help these poor women get a licence to work in GL whore house since they aspire to be a pro? Or better still, help them to find husbands here.

Can AWARE help these women?

good one! Let's ask aware for their opinion and what help they can offer?

I have no sympathy for these China prostitutes, but neither do I condemn them.
It's an arm length transaction, some will say it's a cock length transaction.
They decide to do this, they have to bear the risks and dangers of such an activity. Of course, some also reap monetary rewards.
The benefit to Singaporeans is that they offer more options to Singaporean men with perpetually tingling balls, and also keep the spoilt SG women on their toes or on their backs. The disbenefit is that there are some social costs.

What AWARE will tell you:
"Oh yes, we forgot to mention something. One of the main reason for the low fertility rate is that S'pore men are contrbuting all their sperm to these PRCs whores. So we must help them to help ourselves by helping them find husbands (not ours of course!) here. Kill 3 birds with 1 stone!"

I thought I was the only one bothered by the report.
Perhaps, the values we hold dear in the not too distant
past have changed.

Regardless of circumstances, these women have chosen
to sell their bodies and most of all, their dignity. There
is no trickery here, the literally came in with eyes and
legs wide open.

Sympathy should be reserved for those who came and
risk all in an honest day's jobs, eg, the banglas and
chinamen constructon workers, not for these prostitutes
who look for an easy way out.

What are we teaching our youngsters?
