Probe into rape of girl, 4
GEORGETOWN (Penang) - THE grandparents of a four-year-old girl have alleged that a paedophile could be running a kindergarten here, as police investigation into the case drags on. They claimed that their granddaughter was raped by the kindergarten operator early last year, and lodged a report in April that year after finding out about the incident. However, the culprit has yet to be charged as police have not completed their investigations, the New Straits Times reported. 'I have checked the status of the case numerous times and the police always tell me that their investigations are still in progress,' said the girl's 55-year-old grandfather. The suspect is still running a kindergarten under a different name with his wife. State Criminal Investigation Department chief, Senior Assistant Commissioner II Wan Abdullah Tuanku Said, said the case required delicate investigations as it involved a child and a number of examples of corroborative evidence were being scrutinised.
