Is there any doubt of the verdict? I have not seen a Pappie CONvicted in Kangaroo court in my lifetime. Pappies are the proto of the modern day CCP. What they learnt after fixing the Malayan Communist Front in the 60s, made it better and taught it to Deng Xiao Ping's people in the 80s. CCP refined these ideas of single party control.

The best way to "fix" Stinkapore is to be good to yourself and leave it, like boss Sam.

This verdict meets expectation for PAP standard in Singapore courts.
.
WP must now have a new SecGen as leader.
Unbecoming of a political party to be led by a convicted liar.
Time for a non-CECA to be SecGen of WP.

Judges in S'pore are considered public servants as they are part of the S'pore Public Service. Even if the trial judge wanted to find the Leader of the Opposition innocent, his wife will tell him to shut up or risk losing his generous public sector salary.

The fact that Pritam was fined S$7k per charge means they want to him to run for GE2025 again, but with a convicted person (Felon as they called in US).
This is almost similar to how the libtard judge die die also must have Trump to be first convicted felon to take office as president. :frown:

We can be quite certain PAP will continue to shout this out to the Coolie Gene Sinkies from now till GE2025 is over… Classic PAP playbook…

PAP will make this a GE2025 hot topic so that Coolie Gene Sinkies can forget about sky high living costs, properties and COEs until GE2025 is over… :frown:

The current foreign minister Mr?Ms? Vivian once lied to Sinkies that info gathered using TraceTogether tokens would not be shared with other gabrament agencies.

He wasn't charged/indicted for lying.

The verdict in Pritam Singh's trial comes as Singapore is gearing up for its next general election [Reuters]
Singapore's opposition leader Pritam Singh has been found guilty of lying under oath to a parliamentary committee.

A court imposed the maximum fine of S$7,000 ($5,223; £4,148) for each of two charges. Singh said that he would appeal against the conviction and sentence.

The charges relate to Singh's handling of Raeesah Khan, a former lawmaker from his party, who lied to parliament in a separate case.

The verdict in this high-profile trial comes as Singapore is gearing up for its next general election, which must be held by November. Singh's Workers' Party holds nine out of 87 elected seats in parliament.

Under Singapore's constitution, any MP can lose their seat or be barred from running for office for five years if they are fined at least S$10,000 or jailed for more than a year.

The election department has since clarified that the S$10,000 threshold only applies to a single offence, according to local media. This means Singh's fines will not trigger disqualification.

"The question on most people's minds is the consequences for the upcoming election," Chong Ja-Ian, associate professor at the National University of Singapore, told the BBC.

Pritam Singh is not the first "convicted" politician

Let us be fair to the judge in this case. Michael Khoo, a former Senior District Judge and Head of the District and Subordinate court system, presided over a case involving opposition MP JB Jeyaratnam in the 1980s. Khoo dismissed most charges against Jeyaratnam, and fined him $1,000 for the one charge he was found guilty of. As this fine was insufficient for Jeyaratnam to lose his parliamentary seat, Khoo was demoted to an ordinary Deputy Public Prosecutor in the Attorney-General's chambers. He soon left public service for the private sector. No judge will dare to rule in favour of an Opposition MP.
