Start this thread for everyone who have Prison experiences, tips and tales to share.
Be careful of your backside during the night.. Some old birds are sex starved hard core prisoners.. They love preying on the young inmates.. Worse when you kena allocated in the same cell as them..
This incident happened at Selarang DRC in 1999..
3 Bangla OWPs ( Outside Working Party ) inmates were tasked to sweep the area outside the old Abingdon Prison.. They were under the supervision of a Sgt in charge.. Just before lunch time, one of the Bangla inmate escaped.. The Sgt then informed his superiors at Selarang DRC.. Supt of Selarang DRC then informed Prisons HQ who then activated their yaya SPEAR team.. Police from Bedok Station were also informed along with the SOC and the Gurkha Contigent..
SOC and the Gurkhas came in 2 buses.. Police road blocks were set up from Mariam Way right till Loyang.. Prison officers in search parties went from door to door searching for the Bangla in the landed houses around the Changi area.. Searches were also done in construction sites near to Changi North..
Gurkhas and the SOC trekked the forested area behind the old Prisons HQ which was also near to the Changi Aiport runaway.. Local History enthusiasts will know that the Johore battery is also located there..
The 2 remaining Banglas were then brought back to Selarang DRC for questioning and for some whacking session by the officers..
They didn't manage to find the escaped Bangla that day.. The Sgt on duty was condemned to be a Sgt for the rest of his Prisons career..
One year later, the Police managed to arrest the Bangla at Serangoon after tracking him at a location there..

A few years back, A detainee escaped from a SAF DB van, the van had to stop at traffic light junction .The detainee with his leg in cast, managed to run out from the van and even run faster then the MP.
