Money could be better spent in awarding scholarships to these deserving foreign talents to study in NUS & NTU, as money will eventually be generated into the Singapore economy. For example, foreign students in NUS will rent a room in Clementi, spend their pocket money in NTUC and patronize the hawker centres etc...
Unfortunately, our government is so philanthropic towards foreign talents that it insists on not fully subsidizing local students in their tertiary education. School fees are raised every year and lots of Singapore graduates are in debt before they complete their education. On the other hand, public money are spent on foreigners, who have not served a single day in National Service. It has been a norm for scholarship awarders to scrutinize every finest details of the Singaporean's national service records during interviews.
Young Singaporeans are the future pillars of the society. It has been a norm that they've to fight for survival in this rat race not among Singaporeans, but against foreign talents too. We can find that SAP schools are filled with foreigners etc...
The morale of the day is S'poreans are a pity lot who have to work extra hard for success. Frank Teo

Yet the 66% goondus are so dense that they refuse to heed such clear signs of treason by the Familee that they insist on returning it to powert with a blank cheque.

The China Girl might be doing it for her country - after all it's part of her major. And has the Deutschland Girl gotten her PhD now? She must be in her 30s by now. Old girls are not so fuckable even if they are often free and want to be freed often.

Now, maybe aged a bit. Even so.... NUS is still PAying for her PhD....

Dear Makapaaa,

This article really intrigue me, and I do have some questions to consult you.

Do you know what are the minimum requirements to qualify for a Scholarship in Singapore for Singaporeans, and the quota allocated for Singaporeans who meet the mark?

And also, what are the minimum requirements to qualify for a Scholarship in Singapore for Foreigners?

As for prestigious Scholarship, for what I know these are very limited positions, but I do not know what are the yearly awards.

Because, I find that if we could answer these questions, perhaps we may have a good idea on whether the Scholarships awarded are skewed towards recruiting more foreign students....

Back in uni-days, I do see many PRC Geniuses (all 18 or 17 years old when studying their freshmen), Indian Geniuses (all around 18, 17, sometimes, 16), and Mauritius students as well... and back then, I didn't question how come there is a horde of these people in our Uni.

But today, the question is are these Scholarships granted to the foreign students are in anyway lax, and as compared to Singaporean's Scholarship Requirements?

If so, then we have a problem HUSTON.

Any one here with the answers do share with us...
