My friend told her not to do wha tshe was doing in english ....with a wave of her hand to say"NO don't do that" Because the PRC woman was not buying all she plucked from each bunch!
Prc woman shouting some mandarin words loudly ,glared and walked away with her selection, and then proceed to eat one of the bananas...whilst on the way to weigh them!!!.

So wats new? ....... this has been happening all along if you had bothered to open your eyes clearly...... Ah Nehs n Ah Tiongs after their lunch at the kopitiams would troop to the nearby supermarkets and help themselves to the grapes or strawberries, unwrap them and eat them while browsing around the supermarket..... they then leave the empty or half finished fruits behind and just walk out of the supermarkets without bothering to pay. :(

Wah, the fact that many Sg people can think and say this implies that they are becoming more civilised, civic-conscious and cultured. In no small way, it must be the work of the PAP gahment or their education system.

Let's hope more Sg peope give up their MRT or Bus seats to pregnant women, elderly people and women with children, so that foreigners can tell the difference between an Indian Indian from a Singaporean Indian, and a Chinese Chinese from a Singaporean Chinese (without opening their mouth of course).

What she has done was obviously wrong. But such selfish acts are not committed only by PRCs. The other day, I saw a couple of women in a NTUC supermart lifting up newspapers from the rack and proceeded to read them between the shelves. After they have finished, they returned them to the rack and then walked out without paying. The racks were placed in front of the cashiers' counter, but the NTUC staff did nothing. Apparently, they are only employees and it is not their own family business, so why risk a confrontation?

No wonder proprietors of bookstores and bookstands wrapped their books, magazines in plastic, and place the newspapers in front of the cash counter so the owners can keep a sharp eye on cheap skate browsers.

When MPH was still around at Stamford Rd(opp the Library) I remember seeing many people reading the foreign newspapers at an isolated corner, I would often wonder why MPH would carry these American, British newspapers since few people would buy them. Back then MPH didn't wrap the books to prevent browsing

Now there is only 1 branch of MPH & they don't sell newspapers anymore. Change of reading habits or a matter of business survival
