Woman offers $1,000 bribe to get colleague sacked

A Chinese national who offered a $1,000 bribe to her superior to recommend the dismissal of her colleague was fined $2,500 on Thursday.
Tan Yanli, 35, a former guest service agent, admitted to offering the bribe to Ms Tan Sok Lan, a manager at Marina Bay Sands, in return for recommending the dismissal and repatriation of Ms Sun Chuanling on Aug 16. Ms Sun was Tan's room-mate.
The court heard that their relationship deteriorated over a series of disputes.
On Aug 16, Tan sent a text message to Ms Tan to get her co-worker repatriated to China.
