<!-- START OF : div id="storytext"--><!-- more than 4 paragraphs -->A MAN linked to the deaths of three women in Yishun about two weeks ago was yesterday escorted back to the block where they perished to help detectives in their investigations.
For about three hours, Chinese national Wang Zhijian remained cooped up inside the sixth-floor unit at Block 349 Yishun Avenue 11, the scene of one of the most grisly killings in recent times.
The 42-year-old, charged with murdering one of the women, left in an unmarked van at about 2.30pm, smiling at reporters and photographers despite being shackled at his wrists and ankles.
He wore a red polo T-shirt and his right index finger was bandaged.
In a possible reference to the incessant snapping of the cameras,
he politely said in Mandarin at one point: 'Enough already.'
It is common for murder suspects to be brought back to the scene of crime to help investigators get a clearer picture of what transpired.
Wang is accused of killing Ms Zhang Meng, 42, whose body was discovered in the bedroom of the five-room flat on Sept 19. The dead body of her 17-year-old daughter Feng Jianyu was also found there.
Both women suffered stab wounds.
A third woman, Ms Yang Jie, 36, was found dead at the void deck, after apparently falling from the kitchen window.
Her 14-year-old daughter was also critically injured in the flat, but is now recovering in hospital.
The two mother and daughter pairs are from China and the teenagers attended school here. Wang, who is considered the prime suspect in the deaths of the other two women, also lived in the flat with the women. He is expected to be back in court on Friday.
