Does SMRT own the public roads, questions STOMPer Motorist, who was not happy when he saw this SMRT bus, which may have broke down, parked in the middle of a two lane road to carry out its repair works.
Says this STOMPer:
"These pictures were taken near the end of Lim Chu Kang Road. This bus was parked right across the road with a red pail near the rear of the bus.
"If the bus had broken down, the driver could have parked it by the side of the road and called for the repairman while waiting.
"The bus was parked with the single continuous white line in the middle.
"The bus captain, a Chinese national, came down and started waving other motorists to go to the left and squeeze through the small gap in the road.
"A repair lorry was parked beside the bus while the bus was causing an obstruction on the road.
"SMRT should advise its drivers to park at the side of the road before any repair is done.
"If this had happend in Johor , I could well understand the situation but this is Singapore and such things should not be allowed to happen."
