INCENSED with her lover for wanting to leave her, a spa therapist went over to his flat and poured hot oil on his wife. Goh Gek Hwee, 36, was jailed for three-and-a-half years on Tuesday. She was also fined $4,500 for hitting the victim with a frying pan. A district court heard that Madam Chan Hoong Choo, 41, suffered burns to her face, scalp, trunk, arms and legs in the attack on April 18. Goh had forced her way into Madam Chan's flat at 8.30am. Seeing Madam Chan's daughter with a cell phone, she threatened in Mandarin: 'If you call the police, I will kill your mother.' Goh then tied up both mother and daughter before heating up some oil and pouring it over Madam Chan. Pleading for leniency for Goh, her lawyer said that she had been distraught when her lover Soo Kiong Sing, 46, wanted to sever all ties with her. Mr Soo and Goh have got back together and he was in court to support her.
