Heard someone got injured, and fault rectification works are being paused temporarily. Don't ever expect this to make the news, bcause SMRT will vehemently deny it ever happened. But whatever the case, be prepared for a few more days of no train service at least.
Regardless if that post is true or not, such is expected, from workers whom are
stretched to the limits both physically & mentally. The exact details may never be known, but all knows Human emotions well - pride, ego, carelessness, arrogance, etc will be displayed - a time of showing one's true colors - right or wrong.
This calls from LEADERSHIP, from management, if they are versed & taught in Conflict Management.
Pull the conflicting members into a room & let them talk & discuss their accusations out, while getting a B team to work on the repair job - multi-tasking, so that productivity is not lost, as the ultimate goal is to restore services, which the conflicting parties are eager to complete, a COMMON GROUND which all would agree upon, after CLOUDED JUDGEMENTS subsides....
None needs to be sacked or penalized, or valuable workers would be lost due to circumstances that are beyond their emotional control. No one is perfect, more so in adverse times, & thus a need to keep a cool head at times, from SMRT staff to commuters. We Singaporeans are known as a resilient People, society & civilization. It is time that such adulation from others is not wrong.
