Serious Pork Sold At Woodlands ramadan Bazaar! Honest Mistake! Let's Move On!

Some stalls at the Bazar Raya Utara, a Ramadan bazaar in Woodlands, were found selling pork.

This non-compliance was discovered last weekend (Mar. 25 and 26), according to the Marsiling Constituency Office.

According to a Facebook post from Mar. 27, the organisers have engaged with the operator and have taken immediate corrective steps to stop the sale of pork.

Will prevent future incidents
The constituency office added that it will prevent "future recurrence".

"We would like to thank members of the public for sharing your concerns. We apologise for any inconvenience and concerns caused," it said in the Facebook post.

The constituency office also assured residents and patrons of the bazaar that they will do their utmost to "provide as best as a Ramadan experience" as they can.

This includes having performances on the weekends, as well as halal/Muslim-owned and non-halal stalls to cater to all residents.

More than 80 per cent halal stalls
Bazar Raya Utara is located beside Causeway Point and is running from now till Apr. 19, 2023.

It opens from 10am to 10pm.

In a Berita Harian report from Mar. 11, the organiser chairman of the bazaar Azriman Mansor said that more than 80 per cent of the food stalls sell halal food and drinks.

About 10,000 visitors are expected to visit the bazaar daily during the month of Ramadan.
