According to STOMPer Claudio, this Clementi West lift at block 612 Street 1 broke down for the sixth time since the upgrading project on it was completed last month.

In an email to STOMP today (Oct 12), the STOMPer wrote:

“I am a resident living at block 612 Clementi West Street 1.

“Just not too long ago, our area was involved in the upgrading project, and we had this new lift built outside our flat less than a month ago on Sep 16.

“Just when we thought life was starting to get slightly more convenient, we were wrong.

“When the lift broke down less than a week after it was up for residents to use, we all thought that it was normal as it had just started operating.

“But when the lift breaks down time after time again, it was getting really frustrating.

“There was especially an occasion where I encountered this old lady who wanted to take the lift up the floor and surprised it has broken down again and has to take the trouble to take another lift which was a distance away.

“The picture was taken on Oct 10, and this is the sixth time the lift has broken down!

“Is this the kind of ‘upgraded project’ that the residents deserve after having to fork out money as part of the upgrading project? It is not so convenient after all.”
