The Singapore Police Force (SPF) is planning to purchase two casino gaming tables for training purposes. According to the Government’s e-procurement portal, the SPF is looking to buy a table for blackjack and another for roulette.
Mr Ramachandar Siva, chief executive officer of the ICG School of Casino & Hospitality Management, which offers casino-related education, said casino-standard roulette wheels typically cost between US$3,500 ($4,850) and US$10,000 ($13,880), and are usually imported.
Blackjack tables usually cost up to $2,500, and typically include a locally-manufactured table and imported table layout. Mr Ramachandar said that with the imminent opening of Singapore’s two integrated resorts, it is likely that gaming patrons and even casino staff may try to cheat. He added that cheating attempts are relatively common, especially if potential cheats think security at a particular casino is lax.
