Poly student accused of taking upskirt photo

SINGAPORE: A polytechnic student was charged on Wednesday with allegedly taking an upskirt photo of a woman while on an escalator at Sembawang MRT station.

Nineteen-year-old Lim Ming Chuen was charged with one count of the intention to insult the modesty of a woman.

The offence was allegedly committed against the 26-year-old account executive on February 9 this year.

If convicted, he could be jailed a year, fined or both.

He will back in court on Thursday.

Poly student placed on probation for taking upskirt picture

A student of Singapore Polytechnic was spared a jail term on Wednesday when a district court decided to place him on probation. He also has to serve 60 hours of community service.

Lim Ming Chuen, 19, had pleaded guilty in October to taking a upskirt picture of a 28-year-old account executive on Feb 9.

She was riding the escalator up at the Sembawang MRT station when she felt something touch her thigh.

She turned around and saw Lim holding a cellphone near her thigh.
