A policeman allegedly shot dead his supervisor yesterday because he was unhappy with his performance evaluation.
Pol Lieutenant Prawit Tonthong, 56, a deputy inspector at the Phon Thong Police Station in Roi Et province, repeatedly shot at Pol Lt-Colonel Phirawat Phumkipark, 45, in front of many other policemen while they were having a meal together.
During the meal, Prawit asked Phirawat about the evaluation, in which he was accused of negligence and not granted a pay raise.
Upon hearing Phirawat say, "Everything is concluded. No need to talk about it now," Prawit allegedly opened fire and then fled the scene. However, he returned soon and surrendered to face charges.
Roi Et deputy police chief Pol Colonel Suttichai Bunnag interrogated Prawit, who now faces charges of premeditated murder.
