MALACCA - A 12-year-old girl who was jogging at a beach here claimed that she was molested by a man who told her he was a policeman.

The girl said she was on her routine morning jog along Pantai Puteri beach in Tanjung Keling here a few days ago when the motorcyclist flagged her down and introduced himself as a police officer.

He then asked for directions and asked her to ride pillion with him to show the way. However, she was taken to a secondary school a few kilometres away.

Upon arriving, the man claimed that he would do a urine test on her as she was suspected to be a drug addict. He forced her to use a toilet and fondled her private parts.

When the man started to unzip his pants, the girl ran out of the toilet and screamed for help.

The startled assailant then sped off on his motorcycle.

The girl, who told her parents of the incident, later lodged a report at the Tanjung Keling police station. She also claimed that the man took her bracelet, ring and handphone.

Melaka Tengah Deputy OCPD Supt Muhammad Koey Abdullah confirmed the case but did not elaborate.

Earlier, a foreign businessman was robbed by three men who claimed to be policemen.

In the incident, the 27-year-old from Pakistan said he was walking with his wife along Jalan Munshi Abdullah when a car stopped and three men got out.

Claiming to be cops, they demanded to see their passports. When the businessman told him their passports were in their hotel, the men grabbed his wallet which contained US$4,400 (S$5,400) before fleeing.
