A woman in Taoyuan City was detained for investigation into a homicide case in which her live-in boyfriend from Sweden died from multiple wounds by knives in their apartment on Monday.
The female resident, surnamed Lee, called the police to report the death of her Swedish boyfriend who was in his 50s.
After examining the case, the police found that the Swede died in bedroom, mainly from two wounds to his neck.
They also found blood stains elsewhere in the room and uncovered three knives stained with blood in the rented apartment in Taoyuan City of Taoyuan County.
Neighbours said they had heard heated quarrels in the apartment Monday night before Lee made the phone call to the police.
But surveillance cameras in the apartment building showed no other people entering or leaving the apartment shared by Lee and her boyfriend.
Although Lee took the initiative to report the case and denied involvement in the death, the police found that she was emotionally unstable and had been evasive when answering questions.
