Police raid illegal gambling den in Geylang

SINGAPORE - Four men between the ages of 29 and 57 were arrested by the police for allegedly assisting in managing and gaming in an illegal gambling den in an apartment at Geylang early this morning.
The investigations so far reveal that a 39-year-old man was assisting to manage the illegal gambling den, while the other three who were arrested were patrons.
The police mounted a four-hour operation that began at 12.45am that led to the arrest of the four men, and the seizure of twelve modified computers and cash amounting to over $700.
Anyone found guilty of managing an illegal gambling den can be fined between $5,000 and $50,000 and jailed up to three years.
If found guilty of gaming in an illegal gambling den, the other three men can be fined up to $5,000 or be jailed up to six months.
