Unfortunately, the little girl had already been raped by the abductor. And it's not clear whether the police officer's failing to detect the girl during the 1st search, resulted in the rape or in further rapes. Fortunately, she was rescued before her rapist killed her (which is done in 99% of child abduction & rape cases).
As a little bonus, it's also heartwarming to note that the authorities cared enough in searching for the little girl, that police officers from 2 separate jurisdictional police forces (Forest Hill Police Department and Fort Worth Police Department) separately arrived (minutes apart) at the abductor's place to rescue the little girl.
