I REFER to last Friday's letter, 'Anti-social acts stretch police resources'.
We would like to thank Madam Doreen Tan for acknowledging the problems and challenges faced by the police when managing anti-social acts.
Police will respond to all incidents which have law-and-order implications. However, given the current security climate, police have to prioritise and deploy scarce resources to tackle the twin challenges of crime and terrorism as they are directly connected to the safety and security of the community.
Nonetheless, police are continually reviewing our response to various non-crime incidents in consultation with other agencies so we can better serve the public in our core functions. DSP Paul Tay
