SINGAPORE - Officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division, Singapore Police Force, Central Narcotics Bureau, Singapore Civil Defence Force and Singapore Customs conducted a 17-hour operation, checking public entertainment outlets and public housing estates in Sembawang, Yishun, Ang Mo Kio, Hougang and Serangoon Gardens.

The operation that started at 10am on March 12, 2013 led to the arrest of 63 suspects for various criminal, drug-related and immigration offences.

Breaches to licensing conditions were detected at two public entertainment outlets, and SCDF detected fire safety violations at three public entertainment outlets.

Contraband cigarettes and chewing tobacco were also among the items seized during the operation.

Investigations against the persons arrested are ongoing, and the respective agencies are following up on the violations and offences detected.

What are the priorities right now?

Go for traffic offenders and those that abuse the highways.

Leave the drugs, gangs, over-stayers, fire-safety, etc.. to the CNB, SSB, Immigration and SCDF to do on an as and when basis.

The death of those two little ones in Tampines is still something fresh.

So Dear SPF, please ask (or may I say request) your TP to concentrate on the highways and rid it of the devils instead of always wanting to catch drink drivers.

Our highways are slowly turning into a HELL.
