SINGAPORE: Six people have been arrested for operating and gaming in an illegal gambling den at a shophouse along Lavender Street.
The four men and two women arrested are aged between 31 and 51.
Police made the arrests on September 18 at about 9pm when officers from Central Police Division raided the shophouse.
Preliminary investigations revealed that one of the men, aged 44, is believed to be involved in managing the illegal gambling den.
The remaining suspects are believed to be patrons of the gambling den.
Fifteen sets of computers, two modems, three switch boxes and cash amounting to over S$1,500 were seized during the raid.
The manager of the gambling den will be charged in court on September 20.
Four of the five patrons will also be charged in court on the same day while investigations against the remaining patron are ongoing.
