Police arrest man suspected of serial armed robbery

Police on Wednesday arrested a man who is believed to be behind a series of robberies and snatch thefts committed in Ang Mo Kio and Potong Pasir.

Between Nov 10 last year and Jan 2 this year, the police received reports of several armed robbery cases that happened in HDB lifts.

Each time, the robber would use a similar modus operandi: he would trail his lone female victims, then follow them into the lift where he would rob them at knife point.

Investigations by the officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division led to the 28-year-old being arrested on Jan 4 in his home.
