Police arrest man suspected of mobile phone robbery

The police arrested a 34-year-old man on Friday at Woodlands Checkpoint for suspected armed robbery of a mobile phone.
He was detained when he returned to Singapore from Malaysia. He is also suspected of a snatch theft.
Both incidents occurred in the vicinity of Woodlands Avenue 1 and Woodlands Street 31 within a span of three days.
On May 11, a 17-year-old girl was robbed of her mobile phone in a lift with a pen-knife. Two days later, an 11-year-old boy lost his mobile phone to a snatch thief.
