Police arrest eight-member gang

Eight suspects who are believed to have been involved in a series of robbery,
snatch theft and housebreaking cases in the Yishun Estate have been nabbed.
The arrests came a day after a 20 year-old National Serviceman was attacked
by several youths along Yishun Ring Road at about 2.30am on Thursday.
The suspects, aged between 15 and 29, assaulted the victim with beer bottles
before snatching his phone. The victim sustained arm injuries.
Police mounted a search operation and detained four suspects near
Yishun Street 21 and the other four later.
Seven of them will be charged in court on Saturday for robbery with hurt, which
carries a maximum of 20 years jail and at least 12 strokes of the cane.
The other suspect will be charged with housebreaking and theft, for which
he can be jailed for up to 14 years, if convicted.

Not surprise it happened in Yishun. I was living there for nearly 15 years before moving out to a more peaceful locality. During those 15 years I have seen drug junky mats at lift landings smoking and sniffing away don't even bother that a police station is just down the road and there used to be a police post just a block away or drunkard ah nehs treating the whole void deck as his bed sleeping right infront of the lift door. The worst are those fucking ching loan sharks that keep doing their sickening artwork all over the place.
