60 suspected drug offenders were arrested in the eastern part of Singapore in a 14-hour operation that ended in the wee hours of Wednesday.

The Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) and police hit the streets of Geylang, Circuit Road, Chai Chee, Bedok, Tampines, Haig Road and Geylang Serai during the raid.

Some 28g of heroin, 20g of Ice, or methamphetamine, and a small amount of cannabis were seized, said a press release from the bureau.

The bulk of the heroin, some 19g, was from a woman nabbed at the Circuit Road area who had attempted to cycle away when CNB officers stopped her for checks.

She was caught with 20 straws of heroin that she was intending to sell.
