The 70-year-old man was cycling in Lorong 7 Toa Payoh early on Thursday morning when he was confronted and assaulted by three unknown men. The suspects then made off with the victim's wallet containing about $100 in cash, and his mobile phone worth about $170.
The victim suffered injuries and was taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital. The trio, aged 18 to 20, were arrested in Toa Payoh Industrial Park.
If convicted of robbery with hurt, they face a jail term of up to 20 years and at least 12 strokes of the cane.
