PM Lee ran out of words to defend GIC

It appears that Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong is running out of words and explanations to defend the disastrous performance of Temasek and GIC.

Speaking at the Tripartism Forum on 20 February 2009, he claimed that the funds have not done “too badly” if we “look at a long term basis”:

A week later at Hua Hin, Thailand, he repeated the same points in more or less the same words again:

The gist of his message is: Temasek and GIC have done well ON AVERAGE over a LONG TERM. Stop probing further as nothing more will be revealed.
