Plus-sized women pose nude for charity
Eleven overweight women from Singapore posed nude for a calendar to raise funds for a young Vietnamese leukaemia patient, reported China Press. Miss Sim, 30, a businesswoman who sells plus-sized clothing over the Internet, brought together 10 large women recently for a black and white photo shoot.
The photos would be published in a calendar to raise funds for the patient. Sim said all the women and the photographer were her clients and close friends. “Their daring act in exposing their excess flesh is not to promote obesity, which can cause health problems.
“We just wanted to show that it’s not the end of the world being fat,” she said. Sim hoped that the calendar would help big ladies love their bodies and enjoy life. She added that many women felt embarrassed and declined to take part in the campaign. The calendars will be sold for S$25 (RM57), of which S$17 (RM39) will go to charity.
