Serious Pinoy Navy wants submarines! Will RSN target them?

A senior Philippine Navy (PN) official has reiterated calls for the country to operate its own fleet of submarines amid mounting security challenges in the region.

The service’s flag officer-in-command, Rear Admiral Robert Empedrad, made the call during a hearing with the Philippine senate. The admiral was responding to questions from Senator Emmanuel Pacquiao, on equipment that the PN would need for its modernisation efforts.

Besides being “the future of naval warfare”, submarines are also required “to get the respect of other foreign countries or navies”, according to the admiral, as quoted by the country’s official Philippine News Agency (PNA).

The Philippines should also be asking for an aircraft carrier.lol. Asking for submarines only now is way too late and too little.
To get the respect of the rest of Asean, the RSN must also ask LHL for an aircraft carrier with real offensive capabilities. Since we are just a tiny red dot of a country and talking way too much even for our own good, we need one to gain respect and strike fear into our neighbours.

Pinoy no need submarine.anyone who have seen pinoy living by the sea or fishing village will see young boys diving underwater for quite a long time. Natural divers .all their navy need are long range water scooters equipped with fish bombs.
