A STOMPer says a group of Filipino women who were asking for donations in Orchard Road ran away when she asked one of them to show her donation permit.

She tells STOMP:

"These two (Filipino) women were from a group of three to four women who were asking for donations in front of Paragon.

"One of them approached me asking me to please donate to poor children.

"The paper that she was holding seemed blur (photocopied) and she was holding a small paper box (Singapore charity workers usually carry metal tin cans).

"So I asked her if she had a permit from NCSS to seek donation but she walked away, and the whole group followed her.

"They walked very fast towards Lucky Plaza, stuffing the box and the file that they were using to seek donations into their big handbags that they were carrying on their shoulders.

"When they were in front of Lucky Plaza, they went in different ways.

"I followed one of them and she started to walk very fast, then started to run.

"Why run when you have a permit and is seeking donations?

"This photo was taken in front of Lucky Plaza.

"I also noticed that they carried handphones, calling each other when they lost sight of each other as I ran into another woman with the same file and box in the basement.

"She answered a call then stuffed the box and file into her bag and walked into the crowd."
